Carina Contini

Carina Contini is a third-generation Italian-Scottish restaurateur based in Edinburgh who, with Victor Contini, runs Contini George Street, Cannonball Restaurant & Bar on the Royal Mile, and The Scottish Cafe & Restaurant at the Scottish National Gallery. She is owner/director of the Contini restaurants, and the company describes her family as Italian Scots whose families arrived from rural Italy in the early 1900s. She has also been described as the owner of Cannonball Restaurant & Bar and Contini George Street, and as a leading figure in the Scottish food scene, including recognition as the first female chef appointed to the Slow Food Chefs Alliance and as a Scotland 2014 Food and Drink Ambassador.
