Carmen López de Bastidas

Carmen López de Bastidas is a Venezuelan rum master blender and chemist from Carúpano, best known for developing Ron Carúpano’s profiles for more than three decades. She is venezuela’s first certified female master blender and the first woman to hold that title in the country, with long-running responsibility for quality control and production development at Destilería Carúpano. A 2026 industry profile noted that Ron Carúpano created a limited-edition rum, Carmen, as a tribute to her legacy and mentorship of the company’s blending team.
