i. Biography
Ciccio Sultano is the chef-owner of the two-Michelin-starred Ristorante Duomo in Ragusa Ibla, Sicily, which he opened in 2000 after training in Germany, New York at Felidia with Lidia Bastianich, and Valentino in Las Vegas and Los Angeles; the restaurant earned its first Michelin star in 2004 and the second in 2006. He has expanded his portfolio with I Banchi in Ragusa (2015) and Palermo Airport (2023), Pastamara at the Ritz-Carlton in Vienna (2018), Cantieri Sultano next to Duomo (2019), and serves as Head Chef of Giano at the W Rome Hotel. Sultano began his career at age 13 in Pasticceria Suite di Vittoria and pioneered modern Sicilian gastronomy emphasizing local ingredients and culinary anthropology.
