Col. Albert Bacon Blanton

Colonel Albert Bacon Blanton (1881–1959) was an American bourbon industry executive who spent more than 55 years at what became Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky. He began there in 1897 as a 16-year-old office boy, became president in 1921, and helped guide the distillery through Prohibition, the Great Depression, the 1937 flood, and World War II. Blanton’s Single Barrel Bourbon was later named in his honor, reflecting his practice of selecting special private-reserve barrels from Warehouse H.
