i. Biography
Cristián Vallejo is the chief winemaker at Viña VIK in Chile’s Millahue Valley, where he has overseen viticulture and viniculture since joining the project in 2007. His earlier career began in 1996 at Viña Undurraga and continued at Valdivieso and TerraMater, where he became chief winemaker before being recruited by Alexander and Carrie Vik to help build VIK from the ground up. Viña VIK describes him as leading the estate’s winemaking with hand-harvested grapes and natural fermentation, and his work has been recognized by The Drinks Business as placing him among the world’s top winemakers.
