    i. Biography

Cristián Vallejo is Chief Winemaker at VIK in Chile's Millahue Valley, where the official winery profile says he oversees both viticulture and viniculture. VIK's 327 hectares of vines sit within a 4,300-hectare property divided into 12 valleys with distinct exposures and microclimates. Vallejo's program includes harvesting grapes by hand, fermenting naturally without added yeasts, and ageing wines in a combination of new and used French oak. He also led VIK's inaugural Wine LAB initiative, which brought university students into the winery to create and evaluate their own blends with support from the estate's winemaking team.
