At Château la Caminade, the wines remain Cahors wines, with a clear emphasis on structured Malbec-based expressions, also identified in this context as Auxerrois. The farming is defined by restraint: no herbicides, and only minimal fungicides. That keeps vineyard decisions close to the material, with intervention measured before the grapes reach the cellar. Ressès puts the point plainly: "Auxerrois is enough on its own, especially when the grapes are selected very strictly." The method is in that sentence. The grape is not treated as something to be corrected or masked; it is selected hard, farmed carefully, and carried through as the basis of the wine.
