i. Biography
Dr. Eko Glonti is the founder of Lagvinari, a small organic winery in Georgia’s Kakheti region, where he began producing wines in 2011 after prior careers in medicine and geology. He is a former physician and geologist who works closely with local winegrowers and uses indigenous grapes with traditional qvevri winemaking methods. His wines have been exported internationally and have appeared on the wine lists of Michelin-starred restaurants.
