The daily discipline of winemaking sharpened in roles that sat close to the work. At Bodegas Vega de Yucos, Elisa Lude worked as assistant to enologist Tomás Mesa Guanche, a position that kept her inside the practical decisions that define a cellar. She then moved to Bodega El Grifo in Lanzarote, Islas Canarias, as second enologist, working in a context where volcanic terrain and island climate are part of the material itself. Today, as director of enology of Bodega El Grifo, Elisa Lude carries that same attention to origin into the house style.

Director of enology is not a ceremonial title; it means shaping wines with control while keeping their character legible. Her practice in that role rests on timing, judgment, and patience, so the finished wines reflect process without losing the marks of terrain and harvest.

Elisa Lude's signature wines include El Grifo Ariana Listan Negro Syrah, El Grifo Lias Malvasia Volcanica, and El Grifo Lias. Read together, they point to a cellar approach that pays attention to texture, structure, and how fruit and site can be held in balance through disciplined work. Each wine belongs to the same El Grifo frame, but each gives that frame a different emphasis.
