Eva Clüsserath-Wittmann is the winemaker and co-manager of Weingut Ansgar Clüsserath in Trittenheim, Mosel, Germany. "I was born in the Mosel Valley - my family and winery have been there for many, many years."
The Path
Eva Clüsserath-Wittmann trained at Geisenheim (2001), laying the foundation for a career shaped by precision and place. She then worked at the estate and for the regional branch of the vdp (Prädikat Wine Estates) at Weingut Ansgar Clüsserath / VDP (regional branch) in Trittenheim, Mosel (2001), moving quickly from study into the rhythms of the vineyard and cellar. Today, Eva is winemaker and co-manager of the estate of Weingut Ansgar Clüsserath.
The Work Today
Today, she serves as winemaker and co-manager of the estate. Riesling is the grape most closely tied to her work. "Mosel Riesling is really the first wine that I grew up with and fell in love with."
