Ferran Adrià

Ferran Adrià Acosta, born May 14, 1962, in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, Barcelona, Spain, joined elBulli in Roses on the Costa Brava as chef de partie in 1984, became sole head chef in 1986, and led the restaurant to three Michelin stars (1990, 1997) and five World’s 50 Best Restaurant top rankings. He pioneered molecular gastronomy and techno-emotional cuisine starting in the early 1990s, revolutionizing fine dining with deconstructed dishes and extended tasting menus. elBulli closed in 2011 and reopened as the El Bulli 1846 museum.
