Frances Moore Lappé

Frances Moore Lappé is an American researcher, author, and democracy advocate known for the 1971 book Diet for a Small Planet, which sold more than three million copies and is widely credited with reshaping public understanding of the links between diet, hunger, and environmental impact. She co-founded Food First: The Institute for Food and Development Policy and the Small Planet Institute, and her later work has focused on living democracy and food policy.
