i. Biography
Francis Guzmán is the chef and co-owner of Vianda in Santurce, San Juan, Puerto Rico, a restaurant founded with Amelia Dill and known for seasonal, locally rooted cooking. He Guzmán returned to San Juan in 2017, his hometown, after working in San Francisco and New York at Blue Hill and The Modern, where he served as sous chef. He was selected by the James Beard Foundation as a semifinalist for Best Chef: South and 2023, and as a semifinalist in the Outstanding Chef category in 2024 and 2025.
