Franz-Josef Eifel is the fourth-generation owner and winemaker of Weingut Franz-Josef Eifel in Trittenheim on the Mosel. The winery states that he took over from his father in 1985, and that his first self-vinified vintage was 1976. The estate has about 5 hectares in the Trittenheimer Apotheke and Altärchen vineyards, with a focus on pure, clear, filigreed Mosel Riesling.
