The Path

Early in her career, Gail Coppinger did work that measured progress in stamina, repetition, and attention to the task in front of her. As a shingler in Kentfield, she learned the discipline of labor that is physical, direct, and close to the material. Later, as owner at Golden Point Produce in the Cowgirl Creamery building, Gail Coppinger kept building with the same practical approach, moving from one hands-on trade to another with a steady focus on doing the work properly. That route now informs her role as co-founder and co-distiller of Elk Fence Distillery.

The Work Today

At Elk Fence Distillery, Gail Coppinger applies that same grounded approach to craft distilling. As co-founder and co-distiller, she is part of the work that shapes spirit through repeated choices, close attention, and consistency at each stage. The job depends on detail and on a clear sense of what the finished bottle should deliver. Compared with her earlier labor, the setting has changed, but the standard has not: practical experience, respect for process, and visible care in the final pour.
