Gerard Jané

Gerard Jané Úbeda is the fourth-generation winemaker and general manager of Jané Ventura in El Vendrell/Baix Penedès, where he is identified as the person responsible for the winery’s current wines and cavas. Sources also describe him as the winery’s owner/operator and note that he took over the family estate with his brother Albert in 1998, before becoming the sole operator in 2005 after his brother founded Acústic in Montsant. He is associated with the recovery of local grape varieties such as Malvasia de Sitges and Sumoll and with the winery’s organic, terroir-driven approach in Penedès.
