Ilya Romanov was the general manager of Bar Iris in San Francisco and is a bar manager there before his death in January 2023. He was profiled by StarChefs as a Rising Star Bartender at Bar Iris, indicating his recognition in the cocktail and hospitality scene. A 2023 San Francisco local report said he had a promising career in the Russian Hill restaurant and bar scene before his accidental death.
