Jan Van Heesvelde

Jan Van Heesvelde is a Belgian beverage director and master sommelier who moved from leading wine programs in London to The Modern in New York City in 2026. He studied hospitality at Ter Groene Poorte in Belgium, joined HIDE in London in 2018, later became Assistant Head Sommelier at Simon Rogan’s l’Enclume, then Head Sommelier at The Ledbury in Notting Hill in 2021 and La Trompette in 2025 before taking the beverage director role at The Modern. He earned his Advanced Sommelier certification and the Master Sommelier diploma in 2025.
