Jason Gorski

The Path

Training at Duke University gave Jason Gorski an academic starting point, but the craft was built at DeLille Cellars, where the work deepened over time. As Lead Winemaker at DeLille Cellars (2011–2019), he helped shape the house style from the cellar side. When he moved into director of winemaking and viticulture at DeLille Cellars (2019–2024), the scope widened to connect vineyard decisions more directly with production. Since 2024, he has served as Vice President of Winemaking and Viticulture of DeLille Cellars, a progression defined by added responsibility rather than a change in direction.

The Work Today

The 2024 title places Jason Gorski in a role that links cellar practice with the agricultural work that precedes it. That kind of position asks for more than oversight: it requires reading what the vineyard gives, making production choices against that material, and keeping the final wine aligned with the site. Gorski states the balance plainly: “My goal is to craft wines that people will love while still being true to the specific characteristics of each vineyard.”

Signature

Among the wines associated with his work, D2 is named as his “calling card.” In trade terms, that makes it a shorthand for the house approach he has helped define: a bottling that can stand in for a larger point of view without needing much introduction.
