i. Biography
Jean-Michel Laporte is a French agricultural engineer, estate director, and winemaker who has served as the General Manager (Directeur Général) of the 1855 Fourth Growth estate Château Talbot in Saint-Julien since 2018. He previously directed Château La Conseillante in Pomerol from 2004 to 2015 after earlier training under Jean-Claude Berrouet at Établissements Jean-Pierre Moueix. Under his stewardship, Château Talbot has earned significant critical acclaim, including the #4 Wine of the Year in Wine Spectator's 2022 Top 100 for the 2019 vintage.
