i. Biography
Jean-Philippe Bergier is the cellar master and master blender at Bache-Gabrielsen, where he has worked since 1989 overseeing cask selection, aging, and blending for the house’s cognacs. He was born, grew up among the vineyards of Cognac, comes from a family of winegrowers and distillers in Petite Champagne, and studied at the university in Segonzac devoted to spirits. He is also noted as a jury member for Cognac tasting at the BNIC, the industry regulator.
