The Climb
Training at Mâcon, Burgundy gave Jean-François Nicq the technical base for a working life in wine, with precision and close observation set early as habits rather than slogans. That discipline carried into the years that followed: in 1989–2001, Jean-François worked as vigneron at Cave des vignerons d’Estezargues in Gard, Côtes du Rhône, a long period that built practical command of both vineyard and cellar before the move to his own project. Since 2002, Jean-François has been vigneron of Domaine Les Foulards Rouges, where the work has continued with steady control and a clear sense of purpose.
