The Climb
Training at University of California, San Diego, gave Jennifer Rue a formal start before she entered cellar work as laboratory manager at Oakville Ranch Winery (from 1998). That first post sits close to the fundamentals of winemaking: analysis, precision, and the discipline of tracking wine while it is still in process. From there, her career moved by accumulation rather than shortcut, with each appointment widening her scope across the Napa Valley wine trade.
