Joël Garault

Joël Garault is a French-born chef from Loudun, Vienne, who built much of his career on the Côte d’Azur and in Monaco. He began as an assistant to Christian Willer in La Baule, earned his first Michelin star at the Hôtel Martinez in Cannes in 1975, and later led kitchens at La Réserve de Beaulieu, the Hôtel Mirabeau, and for 18 years at Le Vistamar in the Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo. He retired in April 2016 and was named a Knight of the French National Order of Merit that same year.
