Training at University of San Diego and UC Davis gave John Anthony Truchard the technical base for a career that moved quickly into ownership and brand-building. In 1995, he founded FARM Napa Valley; in 2003, he founded John Anthony Vineyards; and in 2009, he founded JaM Cellars. Each launch extended the same throughline: winegrowing, production, and market presence built from the ground up. Today, John is founder of FARM Napa Valley (since 1995), founder of John Anthony Vineyards (since 2003), founder of JaM Cellars (since 2009), and founder and CEO of John Anthony Wine & Spirits.

Where They Are Now

John Anthony Wine & Spirits is the current base for Truchard’s work, where founder and CEO duties sit alongside the decisions that shape vineyard expression and final bottle character. The craft is most legible in site-specific attention, where each property is treated as a source of difference rather than a template to be standardized.

John's signature wines include 2023 John Anthony Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, 2003 John Anthony Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley, John Anthony Church Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc, and John Anthony Carneros Sauvignon Blanc.
