John Grochau

John Grochau is the founder and head winemaker of Grochau Cellars (now also branded as GC Wines), a Willamette Valley producer based in Amity, Oregon. The winery says he founded the label in 2002, and other industry profiles describe him as a Portland native who moved from fine-dining restaurant work into winemaking after learning the trade in the Willamette Valley. Sources also note earlier work in Portland’s restaurant scene, including Higgins, and wine-making experience at Erath and Brick House before launching his own winery.
