i. Biography
Karime López is a Mexican chef associated with Gucci Osteria da Massimo Bottura in Florence, where she was selected by Massimo Bottura to lead the kitchen when the restaurant launched in 2018. Michelin reported that she had previously cooked at Pujol in Mexico City and Central in Lima before joining Bottura’s team at Osteria Francescana in Modena, and that she later became executive chef of Gucci Osteria, earning the restaurant a Michelin star in 2019 as the first Mexican woman to do so.
