i. Biography
Kosuke Kuji is the fifth-generation president and brewery owner of Nanbu Bijin Brewery in Ninohe, Iwate Prefecture, Japan. He was born on May 11, 1972, studied brewing and fermentation at Tokyo University of Agriculture, and is credited with helping promote sake internationally through Nanbu Bijin and related industry advocacy. In 2005 he received the Iwate Prefecture Young Distinguished Technician Award, and he has also served in public and industry roles including school board and brewers’ association leadership.
