Kristen Barnhisel is the winemaker for white wines at J. Lohr Vineyards & Wines in Greenfield, Monterey County, California, where she has worked since July 2015. J. Lohr states that she brings more than two decades of viticulture and winemaking experience across three continents, and Wine Spectator notes that her career includes harvest work in Tuscany and postgraduate training in food science/enology. In July 2026, J. Lohr announced that she had been confirmed as president of the American Society for Enology and Viticulture for the 2026-2027 term.
