Lauren Friel

Lauren Friel is a Boston-area sommelier, wine writer, and hospitality owner known for founding Rebel Rebel, a natural wine bar in Somerville’s Bow Market, which opened in 2018 and has received multiple James Beard Foundation nominations for Outstanding Wine Program. She previously built wine programs in Cambridge and Boston, including work at Oleana, Committee, and Dirt Candy, and later expanded her business into Wild Child, a wine and literature concept store/events space in Somerville. She has also been recognized as Boston Magazine’s Best Sommelier and was nominated for Wine Enthusiast’s Best Sommelier Wine Star Award.
