Laurent Champs is the fifth-generation head of Champagne Vilmart & Cie in Rilly-la-Montagne, in the Montagne de Reims of Champagne, and has overseen the estate since 1989 or 1990 depending on the source. The house was founded in 1890 by Désiré Vilmart, and current trade profiles describe Champs as the family winemaker directing the domaine’s 11-hectare estate and Premier Cru holdings.
