Álvaro Martinho

Álvaro Martinho is the director of viticulture at Quinta das Carvalhas in the Douro. He is the agronomist/viticulturist at Quinta das Carvalhas and says he has worked there for decades, including 26 years cited in 2023. He is also publicly referred to as Álvaro Martinho Lopes in several profiles, including a 2024 feature that ties him to a Real Companhia Velha agronomy team that helped modernize the estate’s viticulture in the late 1990s.
