The Path

Cornell University, School of Hotel Administration gave Maddy Jimerson the formal base for hospitality and wine, and that training shows up in a career that moved quickly into the commercial side of the trade. By 2013, she was working as a Sales Representative at Lyra Wine, a role that demands product fluency, consistency, and the ability to represent a bottle clearly in front of buyers. From there, she moved into Brand Ambassador / Market Manager work at Minerality Wines in the San Francisco Bay Area, extending that same mix of education, distribution, and direct market contact. The through-line is accumulation. Each role added a different piece of the same discipline: how wine is sold, explained, and placed in the world. That progression now appears in her current work, where Maddy Jimerson is Wine Director of Casa Tua, founder of Winomad Productions (since 2017), and cofounder of Avventura Trips.

The Work Today

Today, Maddy Jimerson works as Wine Director at Casa Tua in Aspen, Colorado, with Italian wine as the core reference point for the list and the larger point of view behind it. The same field of work also extends through Winomad Productions, which she founded, and Avventura Trips, which she cofounds, giving her practice a reach that goes beyond one room, one market, or one format. “I continue to develop my lifelong wine education through bi-annual travels to the wine regions of Europe,” she says. “I spend three months each year in Italy, visiting its diverse terroirs and working harvests up and down the peninsula - from the Langhe in the north to Etna in the south.” That cadence of travel and harvest work is central to how she stays current. Italy is not a fixed specialty in Jimerson’s hands; it is an ongoing course of study, refreshed by repetition and by time spent in place. The Langhe in the north and Etna in the south sit at opposite ends of the peninsula, but in her work they function as part of the same sustained education.
