i. Biography
Marco Salvadori works in the technical register of Tuscan wine at Casa Emma in Barberino Tavarnelle, Italy. The work connects viticulture, oenology, grapevine pathologies and the effect of climatic and environmental factors on esca disease.
The Path
Oenological training at Florence University (2008) gave the work its academic base before cellar and harvest roles placed it in Tuscan production settings. Marco Salvadori took on wine-making work experience at Fattoria Viticcio in Greve in Chianti, worked as harvest supervisor at estates in Bolgheri, Montalcino and San Gimignano areas, Tuscany, and joined Casa Emma as assistant oenologist (from 2012). Casa Emma’s winemaking is now carried by a head oenologist / winemaker role, with Marco Salvadori applying that vineyard and cellar background to the estate’s wines.
