María José San Román

María José San Román is a chef and restaurateur based in Alicante, associated with La Taberna del Gourmet and the broader Grupo María José San Román. She is a key figure behind the group’s Mediterranean, product-driven cooking, and identify La Taberna del Gourmet as a long-running project opened by the Perramón–San Román family. She is also the chef behind Monastrell, the group’s flagship fine-dining restaurant in Alicante, which has held a Michelin star.
