Marisa Taylor

Marisa Taylor’s work in wine has been shaped by technical training, cellar repetition, floor leadership, and operational oversight. In 2025, she became Winery Program Manager at Napa Green in Santa Rosa, extending that experience from production into program leadership and stewardship. Formal training at University of California, Davis gave her the base that much professional wine work depends on, including process, precision, and the technical vocabulary of the trade.

She then built her reputation in the seasonal labor and pressure of winery work in Santa Rosa, where cellar timing and business realities move on the same schedule. Her longest stretch in the craft was at Rutherford Hill Winery in Santa Rosa, where she first served as winemaker from 2007 to 2014 and then as winemaker and General Manager from 2014 to 2022. That progression marked a move from production into the wider orchestration of winery operations while keeping cellar work central.

Those years sit at the core of a career shaped by both precision and management. In 2022, she took on Harvest Winemaker roles at VALKYRIE SELECTIONS, LLC and Lambert Bridge Winery, work that places a winemaker directly in the most compressed and exacting part of the season. From 2023 to 2025, she served as Winery and Climate Specialist at Napa Green, moving into work where wine quality and environmental thinking meet.

In 2024, she also taught as Adjunct Faculty at Santa Rosa Junior College, bringing field experience into the classroom. Since 2022, Taylor has also worked across several concurrent posts: Winemaker Consultant at Marisa Taylor Consulting, winemaker of Vino de Milo, and, since 2024, winemaker of Darms Lane Wine. Since 2025, she has held her current role as Winery Program Manager at Napa Green. Together, these positions show a career that now spans consulting, production, teaching, and program leadership.

At Napa Green, her current role draws on her experience as a winemaker and General Manager while focusing on how wineries are supported over time through systems, coordination, and stewardship. Her career reflects a maker whose work connects cellar knowledge with broader operational responsibility. Her signature wines include Rutherford Dust, Trust the Dust, Grotto Blend, and An Ode to AJT Part I.
