Training at Charles Sturt University was followed by work that moved through different parts of the trade with practical speed. At Tyrrell's in NSW, Australia, Maryann Egan worked as harvest worker, where the season’s pace would have demanded concentration and stamina. She then took on the role of winemaker at Domaine Chandon Australia in Yarra Valley, Australia, adding cellar experience in the same region that would later anchor her own work. From 1996, she became winemaker and partner at Wantirna Estate Vineyard in Yarra Valley, Australia, a long tenure that points to continuity in one site rather than movement away from it.

The Work Today
