Matt Abergel is a chef and co-owner of Yardbird, a modern Japanese izakaya in Hong Kong’s Sheung Wan district that specializes in yakitori. Yardbird’s official site identifies him and Lindsay Jang as the people who own and operate the restaurant, and the restaurant’s own materials note that it received its first Michelin star in 2021. Abergel is also identified in reporting as the chef behind The Diplomat x Yardbird collaboration events in Hong Kong.
