Matthew Day

Matthew Day is the winemaker at Klein Constantia in Constantia, South Africa. A Stellenbosch University graduate, he gained experience in Saint-Émilion, the Barossa Valley and Napa Valley before taking the reins at Klein Constantia in 2012, becoming only the third winemaker since the estate's revival in the 1980s. His approach favors spontaneous fermentation where possible, minimal intervention and restrained oak, including for the estate's historic Vin de Constance.
