Mattias Roock is a German chef who has served as Executive Chef at Castello del Sole in Ascona since 2016, overseeing Locanda Barbarossa and related dining concepts at the hotel. He previously worked as Sous Chef at Kempinski Grand Hotel des Bains in St. Moritz from 2006 to 2009, and later became the youngest Executive Chef in the Kempinski Group at age 28 according to his own career profile. Locanda Barbarossa is officially presented as his restaurant, and it holds one Michelin star and 18 Gault&Millau points.
