Mihai Baniță

Mihai Baniță is the managing partner and oenologist at LacertA Winery in Fințești, Buzău County, in Romania’s Dealu Mare wine region. He has been associated with LacertA since 2003, when he joined the project as its winemaker, and later co-managed the estate alongside Walter Friedl and then Mircea Matei. Earlier in his career, he worked at the Valea Călugărească wine research institute, where interviews describe him as a talented early-career winemaker and note his prior work as a mechanical engineer there beginning in 1994.
