Nandu Jubany is a Catalan chef born on 19 January 1971 in Monistrol de Calders, and he is identified with Can Jubany in Calldetenes, which he and Anna Orte opened in 1995. His early career included work as a head chef at Urbisol, followed by time at notable restaurants including Cabo Mayor in Madrid, Fonda Sala in Olost, Marcel in Sabadell, Gaig in Barcelona, and Arzak and Bodegón Alejandro in the Basque Country. He received his first Michelin star for Can Jubany in 1998, and the restaurant has been described as a benchmark for modern Catalan cooking rooted in tradition.
