Nicholas Pena Alvarez is the Executive Chef at Calabash Hotel in Grenada, where he was introduced in a May 2024 hotel feature as the newest addition to the team. Calabash later described him as the hotel’s newly appointed Executive Chef, working in partnership with co-owner and Food & Beverage Director Beth Garbutt to drive culinary creativity and champion local, seasonal produce. A 2024 hotel-linked profile and related coverage say he was born and raised in Vancouver, Canada, and arrived with over two decades of experience in Michelin-starred restaurants across Europe, cruise ships in the Caribbean, and properties in Asia.
