i. Biography
Paul Hsu is a beverage director and bar leader associated with Obsidian Bar in Shenzhen’s Ping An Finance Center, where he has been credited with shaping the venue’s cocktail programme and local-ingredient approach. He has been described as being originally from Taiwan and as having moved to Beijing in 2013 before later helping open Obsidian in Shenzhen. He also won the China regional championship in the 2023 Diageo World Class competition.
