Safe Cruz is a Tenerife-born chef who leads Gofio, the Michelin-starred Canarian restaurant in Madrid on Calle Caballero de Gracia. The restaurant’s official site says he comes from a family of farmers in El Tablero, Tenerife, and that he trained in the “day-to-day” practice of traditional Canarian cooking. Contemporary coverage identifies him as chef and co-owner of Gofio, which opened in 2015 and has held a Michelin star since 2019.
