i. Biography
Trained at Scuola Enologica di Conegliano, he came into the trade with a technical base that values measurement, repetition, and attention from vine to bottle. In California, he moved through Ca' Momi Winery, Fior di Sole, and one of the valley's historic names, bringing a methodical approach to each stage of production.
The Climb
At Scuola Enologica di Conegliano, Stefano Migotto built the schooling that led into cellar work at Ca' Momi Winery. The move from classroom to production was a steady progression, grounded in study and the discipline of doing the work cleanly, consistently, and with control. That foundation shaped a career defined less by display than by the demands of making wine well. Since 2006, ownership of Fior di Sole has sat alongside his work as winemaker at Charles Krug, giving Stefano Migotto a role that spans both business and cellar. One side of that work is long-range responsibility for a company; the other is the daily judgment required to shape wine in the moment. The result is a practice built on consistency, measured decisions, and attention to what reaches the table.
Today
He is owner of Fior di Sole. He also works as winemaker at the St. Helena estate.
In Their Words “Fior di Sole will continue to produce the best wine possible and bring the best value, quality and cost to the shelf and to the consumer's table.”
