i. Biography
Sung Anh, also known as Anh Sung-jae, is the chef-owner of Mosu in Seoul, South Korea, which earned three Michelin stars in 2023 and 2024, making it the only restaurant in South Korea with that distinction. Born in Seoul and raised in California after moving with his family, he began his culinary career after serving in the US Army in Iraq, training at Michelin-starred restaurants including Urasawa, The French Laundry, and Benu. He opened Mosu in San Francisco in 2016, earning one Michelin star before relocating it to Seoul's Itaewon-dong in 2017 to be closer to family.
