Beginnings
Architecture in Thomas Leeser’s work is used to direct movement, manage encounter, and shape atmosphere. From Frankfurt to New York, he built a practice around restaurants, nightclubs, theaters, and other rooms where circulation is part of the brief, not an afterthought. In New York, that approach sharpened into spaces that do more than contain program: they pull people into the room and make the room part of the action. The Rise
Bottino in West Chelsea, New York, brought Thomas Leeser’s approach into view by turning a century-old hardware store into a mid-century modern eatery with a garden by 1997.
