Val M. Cantu is the chef and co-owner of Californios in San Francisco, a restaurant that opened in early 2015 and serves a market-focused, seasonal tasting menu through a Mexican lens. He is the chef and owner/co-owner of Californios, which is located in San Francisco’s Mission/SoMa area. Californios has earned Michelin recognition under Cantu’s leadership, including two stars in prior coverage and three stars, making it the first Mexican restaurant in the world to receive that distinction.
