Marne Valley Fruit, Aÿ Winemaking
Champagne Geoffroy's working geography has two centers. The family farms about 14 hectares across Cumières, Damery, Hautvillers and Fleury-la-Rivière, but Jean-Baptiste and Karine Geoffroy moved the winery and commercial operation to Aÿ in 2008. Cumières remains central to the fruit and to the family's history.
From vineyard to assemblage
The producer describes moving juice by gravity at its Aÿ winery and choosing among enamelled vats, tuns, barrels and demi-muids according to the fruit. It avoids malolactic fermentation as part of its approach to freshness. Expression, Volupté, Empreinte and Les Houtrants Complantés make the range more concrete than a static vineyard-percentage figure.

The official booking site, branded Champagne René Geoffroy, offers a 90-minute visit with three Champagne tastings. The house also makes still Cumières Rouge. The visit is a way to see where fruit from the Marne Valley is handled, while the Aÿ address should not be mistaken for the origin of every grape.
